Signs of Stress

Stress is body's the fight or flight response to a perceived danger.  The fear can be real or imagined, but the effects are the same: your body reacts by secreting 'fight or flight' hormones and your heart speeds up, your breathing is quick and shallow and you become vigilant to danger.  Not all stress is bad, in fact, if you're in real danger the stress response may save you.  Chronic stress, however, can qucikly wear your body out.  The good news is that Dr. Sheffield and Westlake Chiropractic can help you with stress!
